A LITTLE CONTEXT GOES A LONG WAY

How to use this
tool.

01

Start with the time actually worked

Add a date, start time and finish time for each shift. Split shifts can have separate rows on the same day. Enter unpaid breaks in minutes; paid breaks should remain part of worked time. The calculator accepts up to 31 entries and rejects overlapping shifts.

02

Handle overnight work explicitly

Select Next day when a shift ends after midnight. A shift from 22:00 to 06:00 is eight hours before breaks. Hours belong to the date the shift starts, and weekly totals use Monday through Sunday. These are clock hours; daylight-saving changes are not applied.

03

Understand the billable amount

Billable amount = net minutes ÷ 60 × hourly rate. Each row rounds to the selected currency’s smallest unit before totals are added. For example, 09:00–17:30 with a 30-minute unpaid break is eight hours, or USD 400 at USD 50 per hour. Overtime, payroll taxes and statutory breaks are not calculated.
