What does Ostro do?
Ostro is a cross-border payment-receiving and payout platform. Eligible users can share available receiving details, follow payment status, and choose available payouts to verified bank accounts or wallets.
Who is Ostro built for?
Freelancers, independent professionals, remote workers, contractors, agencies, businesses, and globally distributed work. Access depends on eligibility, jurisdiction, compliance review, and partner availability.
How do I create an account?
Use Create account to open the separate Ostro application. Complete the onboarding and verification steps required for your circumstances. Creating an account does not guarantee access to every product option.
How do I receive an international payment?
Share the precise available receiving details and payment instructions shown in your Ostro workspace with a legitimate client, employer, marketplace, customer, or business partner.
Will I receive account details in my own name?
Account details in your name, where available and approved. Named details are subject to eligibility, account type, jurisdiction, compliance review, and partner support.
Which fiat currencies and rails are described on the website?
Supported funding, receiving, and payout flows include USD through ACH, FedNow, and Wire; EUR through SEPA; MXN through SPEI; BRL through Pix; GBP through Faster Payments; and COP through Bre-B and Bank Transfer. Eligibility can differ by direction, payer type, and jurisdiction. FedNow payouts require partner enablement. Use only the options available in your workspace.
Can I fund a payment flow myself?
Yes, where supported and approved. Use the funding instructions available in your Ostro workspace to send money from an eligible account of your own. Funding and third-party receiving have different requirements; do not assume that the same instructions or payer rules apply to both.
Do I need an invoice or payment link?
No. Share available receiving details directly, or use an invoice or payment link for a formal payment request or to send instructions by email.
Can any marketplace pay me through Ostro?
Not necessarily. Check the marketplace’s requirements and the receiving details and rail available to you. No specific platform integration or universal marketplace acceptance is claimed.
Which types of payments can I receive?
Eligible users can receive legitimate client, employer, customer, marketplace, or business payments through their available receiving details. Funding from your own eligible account may also be supported. Permitted payer types depend on your residence, account details, currency, payment rail, and compliance review. Personal transfers, family payments, and all third-party payments are not automatically approved. Follow the instructions in your workspace and check country and regional restrictions.
Can my receiving details accept SWIFT payments?
The local receiving details described on this site do not support SWIFT transfers. For USD, use the supported U.S. rail shown in your workspace, such as ACH or domestic wire. For other currencies, use the specified local or regional rail. An account number or IBAN does not mean that SWIFT is supported. If your payer requests a SWIFT code, contact Ostro support before sending.
Where can I find a microdeposit amount or verification code?
Where microdeposit verification is supported for your ACH receiving details, a bank or external service may ask you to confirm small deposit amounts. A three-letter code requested by a service such as Plaid is included in the deposit description. If you cannot locate the amount or code, contact Ostro support with the service name and date of the attempt. Support can help check the available verification information. This does not confirm that every bank or service can link to your receiving details.
Why is a payment under review?
A payment may need compliance review or additional information before it is available. Follow the status and instructions in your workspace. Contact support if you need help understanding the next step.
Who should I contact about a payment?
Email support@tryostro.com or contact Product support. Ostro is your point of contact for payment questions and will coordinate with licensed financial partners where needed. Please direct enquiries about your Ostro payment to us. Include the payment date, amount, currency, and reference if available. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, private keys, or seed phrases.
My payment is missing or has not arrived. What should I do?
Check the payment status in Ostro, then contact support with the date, amount, currency, payer name, and payment reference so we can investigate. For an ACH payment, ask the sending bank for its trace number (Trace ID). For a U.S. domestic wire, ask for the IMAD tracking identifier. If someone else sent the payment, ask them to obtain this from their bank. For other rails, share the available transfer reference or confirmation.
When will an incoming payment become available?
Arrival and availability depend on the payment rail, sending and receiving institutions, banking days, cutoff times, and any compliance review. A sender’s confirmation does not mean the payment is already available in Ostro. Follow the status in your workspace and see processing windows and cutoff times for estimates and route-specific conditions. If the expected window has passed, contact support.
Where do I enter a payment memo or reference?
If your Ostro payment instructions include a memo or reference, copy it exactly into the sending bank’s payment-reference field. Depending on the bank, this may be called Memo, Reference, or Message to Recipient. Ask the sending bank which field is passed to the recipient if you are unsure. A reference is only required where your payment instructions specify one. If you already sent a payment with a missing or incorrect reference, contact Ostro support.
My bank does not recognize the routing number. What should I do?
Check that you copied the current routing number and selected payment rail exactly as shown in your Ostro workspace. Ask the sending bank to verify that number for the intended ACH or domestic-wire payment. If it is still rejected, contact Ostro support with the bank name, selected rail, and error message. Routing details can differ between receiving options; use your own instructions rather than a routing number found elsewhere.
What payout options can I choose?
Local payouts in 100+ fiat currencies are supported through licensed financial partners, to verified bank accounts. Stablecoin payouts to verified wallets are also available where supported and permitted. Eligibility, jurisdiction, route support, compliance review, and partner availability apply.
Does 100+ fiat currencies also mean 100+ receiving currencies?
No. The 100+ figure describes local-payout coverage through licensed financial partners. The six featured fiat currencies describe supported funding, receiving, and payout flows. Available receiving details, rails, and destinations depend on your eligibility and the specific route.
Which stablecoins may be available?
Potential payout options include USDC, USDT, USDB, USDG, USDP, PYUSD, and EURC. Availability varies by asset, network, corridor, and jurisdiction, including restrictions for certain EEA flows.
Can I use any blockchain network?
No. Use only the eligible network shown for the selected asset and verified wallet in your workspace. An asset being listed on this website does not mean that every network is supported.
How long will a payout take?
Timing depends on the payment rail, currency or asset, corridor, partner availability, and compliance review. Instant payout or conversion is not guaranteed. See processing windows and cutoff times for the reference estimates and route-specific conditions.
Who handles currency conversion?
Licensed financial partners handle conversion where needed and supported. Ostro does not offer unrestricted foreign-exchange or stablecoin conversion.
Why do I need identity verification?
Ostro performs customer onboarding, identity verification, KYC and sanctions screening, country eligibility checks, transaction monitoring, recordkeeping, and compliance escalation as part of its workflow.
Is my country eligible?
Check country eligibility to search available, restricted, unavailable, and prohibited locations. Country-level access remains subject to verification, regional restrictions, and approval for the payment route you want to use.
Is Ostro a bank?
No. Ostro is not a bank and does not hold customer funds. Payment processing, conversion, custody where applicable, and settlement are provided by licensed financial partners.
What fees apply to my payments?
Pricing is tailored to each customer based on payment volume, currencies, supported routes, and payout needs. Share your estimated monthly volume and requirements with Ostro for a quote covering the applicable charges. Request a quote.
Are there minimum amounts or limits for receiving and payouts?
Minimum transaction amounts and limits vary by currency, asset, payment rail, payment direction, and supported route. Eligibility, jurisdiction, compliance review, and partner requirements also apply. Check the instructions and limits shown for your available option. If the minimum is unclear, ask Ostro support to confirm it before sending; there is no single minimum that applies to every payment.
Where do I log in?
Log in to your Ostro account at app.tryostro.com/login.
How do I report a security issue?
Email security@tryostro.com with a clear description and safe reproduction details. Avoid sharing account secrets or unnecessary personal information.
